We are delighted to have received a Taste Our Best award from VisitScotland. The Taste Our Best Accreditation celebrates ‘businesses who serve up quality food and drink using locally sourced, fresh local produce’.

We make every effort to source our produce locally – to support Scottish producers as well as reducing our carbon footprint.

TASTE OUR BEST BREAKFAST

  • Loch Fyne smoked salmon is used in one of our Breakfast Specials. Loch Fyne is a short drive away and home to the renowned Loch Fyne Oyster Bar, Deli & Restaurant, as well as Inverary Castle and town.

  • Lorne slice – the traditional square Scottish sausage - is bought from local butchers at Helensburgh, Inverary or Greenock

  • Our breakfast eggs are all free range from local farms near Dunoon and roundabout

  • We use Scottish Blend for our breakfast tea. It is specially blended for Scottish water – and it’s fully Rainforest Alliance certified.

  • Where possible we use Scottish seasonal fresh fruit for our breakfast. Scotty Brand’s seasonal strawberries and raspbrries are grown by the Bruce family farm in Perthshire.

  • Our porridge – a Scottish staple since the Middle Ages – is made from Scottish milled oats and we buy Scott’s Porage Oats, a Scottish food company with its HQ in Edinburgh. We usually make it with milk but ask if you prefer it made with water or a dairy-free alternative such as Oat Milk. Top with sliced banana and/or drizzle with honey or golden syrup … Nuts and seeds are also great toppings to add.

  • Tattie is another word for potato in Scotland. Potato  or Tattie scones are griddle scones or flat bread made from mashed potato -  a great addition to a cooked breakfast and suitable for vegetarians (they do include wheat).

  • We bake our own wholemeal  bread, which is vegan-friendly. If you are gluten free let us know and we will make sure we can accommodate you.

  • Guests love our complimentary Borders biscuits – Scotland’s number 1 premium biscuit brand.

  • Water Our tap water is mains supplied and delicious to drink. You will find a bottle of fresh tap water in your fridge that can be refilled during your stay. However, we acknowledge that sometimes it’s helpful to have water on the go so we put a couple of bottles of Highland Spring Water in your fridge. Highland Spring is naturally sourced and filtered through the hills of Scotland. Their Eco bottles are made from 100% recycled plastic and are 100% recyclable.

From the garden We use fresh herbs from the garden to garnish and also grow our own blackcurrants which get turned into blackcurrant compote for yoghurt or porridge topping.

Guests can choose between continental and cooked options - as well as from a range of cereals including muesli and granola. We offer plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. Please ask for our Specials which can be adapted for vegans and dairy intolerant.

Breakfast is included for guests in the B&B. Guests in the self-catering apartment may order breakfast for an additional charge, subject to availability and it may be served in the apartment.

Please let us know if you have any allergies or food intolerances. We make every effort to support specific dietary needs but due to our location it is helpful if you can let us know in advance. We have a vegetarian and vegan menu with options for gluten-free and dairy intolerant.
